Meet the Surgeons Behind Placer County’s Newest Oral Surgery Practice

At Icon Oral Surgery, expert care begins with our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Austin Eckard and Dr. Ehssan Ghassemi. Together, they bring over two decades of clinical experience and a shared dedication to surgical excellence and compassionate patient care.

Dr. Eckard, a Southern California native and the son of a dentist, was drawn to oral surgery through an appreciation for problem-solving and working with his hands—an interest that nearly took him to culinary school. He earned his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed advanced surgical training at Highland Hospital/University of the Pacific. 

Dr. Ghassemi, a Northern California native, followed his passion for oral surgery after conducting post-grad research in bone biology and reconstruction. He holds both a DMD and MS and completed his oral and maxillofacial training at Highland Hospital/University of the Pacific. 

Both doctors are Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Fellows of the AAOMS, committed to providing exceptional, personalized care.
